Rose Accord
Students will learn the art of blending a Rose accord. Rose is one of the most common notes in perfumery and is often a foundational ingredient in perfume formulation. Creating accords allow perfumers a way to simulate rare materials, imitate notes that cannot be extracted, or replace ingredients too environmentally or financially costly to use. They also offer perfumers a way to push or pull their recreations based on their preferences or artistic goals.
In this hands-on class, we will work with both synthetic and natural materials. Each material will be evaluated, and we will discuss its contribution to the formulation. We will then blend them to create a simple rose scent. Each student will also have the opportunity to use modifiers to shift their accord based on personal preferences.
At the end of class, every student will be able to take their rose accord home along with the materials kits received at the beginning of class.

Jasmine Accord
Students will learn the art of blending a Jasmine accord. The intoxicating scent of Jasmine has been used in perfumery by cultures around the world since ancient times and is an essential ingredient for any perfumer. Learning to recreate it accurately will allow students to create rich, complex perfumes.

Material Evaluation Course
In this course, students will have the opportunity to experience and evaluate multiple materials. We will review both natural and synthetic components as a group and discuss each material individually. This unit will cover 4 fragrance families (Spicy, Amber, Woody, and Gourmand), and we will review where they are found in natural materials vs synthetic materials. All Materials will be provided in-house. We work hard to make sure our cost are as low as possible and accessible. That's why this class breaks down to only $45 per class.
wk 1 - Spicy Synthetic
wk 2 - Spicy Natural
wk 3 - Amber Natural
wk 4- Amber Synthetic
wk 5 - Woody Synthetic
wk 6 - Woody Natural
wk 7 - Gourmond Natural
wk 8 - Gourmond Synthetic
Learn Goals
Students will learn about the language of perfumery and the corresponding materials, while examining individual materials in detail.
A deeper analysis of molecules and natural materials will provide students with a better technical understanding of these fragrance families.
Gain an understanding of how to evaluate materials and keep records for perfume development.
